Professional Registration Workshops: Introduction To Marketing Within Academic Libraries [Event Ref. No. TG1/PRWMAR1]
cpd25′s programme of nine two-hour workshops is devised primarily to support CILIP Chartership and ACLIP candidates. However, many of the events in the programme are highly relevant to staff working as Library Assistants, Senior Library Assistants and so on. The events are aimed, therefore, at all levels of library staff – who may or may not be seeking Certification or Chartership, but who wish to further their professional skills and development.
Places are available on either the whole series (£200 for cpd25 members, £300 for external organisations) or for individual workshops (£50 for cpd25 members, £75 otherwise).
Marketing your Library Services is becoming an increasingly important aspect of library work. At some point in your career you will be asked to be involved in marketing part of your service, be it a new service development or just raising the profile of an underused service. The aim of this Introduction to Marketing workshop is to give participants an insight into key aspects of marketing within academic libraries.
The workshop will be facilitated by Jo Alcock (EvidenceBase, Birmingham City University: http://www.bcu.ac.uk/business/consultancy-and-partnerships/evidence-base) and Penny Andrews (University of
Sheffield and Leeds Metropolitan University), who will provide a brief overview of marketing theory along with case studies that the group will be able to discuss.
Venue: The Burnside Room at the London Mathematical Society, 57-58 Russell Square, LondonWC1B 4HS; Website: www.lms.ac.uk
