Annual events

The cpd25 programme offers a wide range of online and face-to-face events throughout the year. Once dates have been confirmed, these will be added to the Events Calendar where bookings can be made. Regular events that take place every year are listed below:

Moving into Management
This 2 day face-to-face event usually takes place in Februrary and provides an insight in to what it means to be a manager. Attendees range from those who want to know whether management is really for them to those who have just started out in a management role for the first time and are looking for an all-round basic introduction to the skills they will need.

Annual SLA Conference
This 1 day face-to-face event is a highlight of the cpd25 calendar and is very popular, with some SLAs attending regularly. The conference usually takes place in June.

Managing Student Behaviour
This 1 day workshop examines approaches to managing student behaviour supportively and collaboratively, while maintaining an appropriate environment for learning and teaching support. Watch Ash Charlton introducing the workshop here:

cpd25 Aspects Programme
Aspects is a series of introductory career focused workshops on topical areas of library information work. Some of the regular events are listed below:

So you want to be a Subject Librarian?
In this event, both recently appointed and more experienced Subject Librarians discuss their routes into Subject Librarianship and what they have learned along the way. They discuss the key aspects of the role and provide advice for those who want to take a similar path.

The GLAM Sector: what can we learn from Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums?
Designed to share and celebrate the successes and diversity of four key cultural organisations and the lessons we can learn from each other.

Director’s Cut
This event aims to inspire future sector leadership, and provide an opportunity for self-reflection to assist attendees with their own career and CPD planning. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear a senior leader’s personal story and learning, and will take the concept of the leadership journey – relevant to all, not just the director!
