Directors’ Briefing: KEF/TEF/REF
Directors and Heads of Service (from both within and without the M25 Consortium) are invited to attend a Directors’ Briefing on the KEF, REF and TEF. Directors should feel free to send a deputy if unable to attend themselves.
This event will look at the latest information, opportunities and challenges for libraries and universities with regards the three excellence frameworks. The Research Excellence Framework, the Teaching Excellence Framework and the latest Subject-level TEF, and the recent Knowledge Exchange Framework pilot. All can, or have the potential to, affect the reputation and finances of institutions, but they can also be an opportunity for libraries to support their universities and demonstrate impact.

11.10 – 11.35: Dominic Walker (Research Publications Manager, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, University of London) – Library support for REF
11.35-12.00: Sam Smidt (Director of the UCL Arena Centre for Research-based Education) – Impressions of the 2018-19 subject-level TEF pilot
12.00 – 12.20: Coffee Break
12.20 – 12.45: Vanessa Cuthill (Director of the Research and Enterprise Office, University of Essex) – KEF: Opportunities and Challenges for Universities

- M25 Members receive one free Directors’ Briefing place per institution per academic year. Additional places cost £75
- Non-M25 members £112.50
Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
