Hard to Reach Library Staff
– how to supervise, manage and develop staff working outside usual business hours (evening, weekend or night staff)

Many libraries employ staff to work in teams outside ‘usual’ business hours – in the evening, at weekends and overnight. These staff are often considered to be ‘hard to reach’ for managers who are required to supervise, manage and develop them.

This event will provide an insight into the challenges of managing out of hours teams from two experienced library managers and will include examples of best practice for use within the sector.

There will also be an opportunity for networking with other attendees and engagement with the speakers.

Sharon Gibson, LRC Night Team Manager, Kingston University
Noreen Beecher, Head of Evening and Weekend Services, UCL Library Services
