TG1: Career Development Task Group
The Career Development group provides training and development aimed primarily (but not exclusively) at library workers and information professionals in the early stages of their career. The group is responsible for the cpd25 Aspects programme, which is a series of introductory workshops focusing on topical areas of library and information work, and also runs an annual event for people considering taking a LIS degree. Additionally, the group provides training in key competencies such as presentation and staff management skills, and covers areas such as career pathways and job application and interview skills. It also arranges networking events aimed at people responsible for the training of library staff in their own institutions.
