We have re-opened the call for posters so you can share your recent experiences with the M25 community

Throughout the month of May we will be publishing posters from our postponed Annual Conference on “The Future of Libraries”. We’re delighted to be able to share these posters, designed by staff from M25 member institutions, on our website. We will contact members and friends when the posters are available to view.

Re-opening the call for posters and Covid-19

When the theme “The Future of Libraries” was selected for our 2020 Annual Conference we couldn’t have imagined the current circumstances we’re now all facing due to Covid-19. Now, more than ever, institutions are adapting to new ways of working and preparing to future-proof their service.

With this in mind, we have decided to re-open the call for posters to ask members for submissions relating to recent experiences and challenges dealing with operational and/or strategic change due to Covid-19. Some themes that you may wish to consider, but are by no means limited to:

  • Business continuity planning
  • Remote working and remote managing
  • Digital tools and delivery
  • Library technology
  • The future of services
  • Our agility and personal preparedness for change within the profession

Successful applicants will have their posters published as PDFs on the M25 website in June and then displayed at the Annual Conference when it’s rescheduled later in the year. Authors are encouraged to provide a short commentary to accompany the poster. This can be a short video or a sound file up to 2 minutes in length or a PDF of written commentary up to 500 words.

Eligibility and submitting an abstract:

We invite submissions for posters from library staff of all levels of experience and a variety of roles. We particularly encourage submissions from those working outside the Higher Education sector, to reflect the diversity of M25 membership. Only staff from M25 member institutions are eligible to submit a poster abstract.

Abstracts of not more than 250 words should be submitted to the Executive Manager. Please submit your abstract as a Word file (not in the text body of an email), which is saved with your surname and ‘M25 Poster 2020’ in the title. The deadline for submission of abstracts is noon Friday 8th May 2020. All applicants will be notified of the outcome in the following weeks. Please address any questions about this call or the conference more generally to the Executive Manager.

We hope you enjoy the first round of posters in May. We look forward to hearing from you with further poster submissions to be shared on the M25 website in June
