New Developments:

New Being Digital website launched

being digital - skills for life online

Library Services launched the exciting Being Digital website, at the end of October.

Being Digital is a collection of short, easy-to-follow activities aimed at developing students’ digital literacy skills. These bite-size interactive learning materials aim to develop confident, critical users of digital tools and resources, whether in the context of study, work or everyday life. Activities cover areas such as knowing who and what to trust online, evaluating and using online tools and searching effectively.

Being Digital is part of a broader programme of digital literacy initiatives being undertaken by Library Services and the OU’s Institute for Education Technology. Library Services has also developed a digital literacy framework to scaffold the inclusion of digital literacy in qualifications, as well as to support the development of staff skills.
