Two Chairs for M25!

At the 2007 M25 Annual General Meeting held at the Old Royal Naval College, University of Greenwich on June 1st, members were informed of the appointment of two key officers of the M25 Consortium.

Nick Bevan, Director of Library Service at Brunel University, through a non-contested election was appointed the new Chair of the M25 Consortium. Nick previously held the office of Treasurer of the Consortium and during his appointment in that position, implemented a more simplified and fairer subscription model which standardised the calculation of subscription charges for HEFCE and non-HEFCE members using a JISC band mapping. In departing the post of Treasurer, the Consortium's finances remain in a healthy state, in the large part owing to Nick's shrewd management

At the meeting Nick thanked Robert Hall, his predecessor and highlighted the significant accomplishments that the Consortium had achieved under his four-year tenure as Chair - including a marked growth in membership, the implementation of a new website, the move to a more professional annual report and the introduction of some new and sustainable strategic developments.

Mary Nixon, Librarian at Goldsmith's University of London, was also announced the new Chair of CPD25 - the M25 Consortium's very successfully administered and well sought after training arm. Mary has been directly involved with the Consortium through the Marketing & Communications Working Group since July 2005 and up to her appointment had been the Secretary of that working group. During her time with that group she jointly coordinated the successful production of the 2005/06 M25 annual report and up to the time of her appointment was working on the 2006/07 report.

Mary succeeds Jean Yeoh who had been the Chair of CPD25 from its inception. High commendation  goes to Jean for the exemplary work she has contributed towards the present success of the programme.
