The working group will, in line with the Consortium Business Plan,
identify and investigate quality issues of relevance to the membership,
focussing on the M25 area, but in liaison and collaboration with other
relevant national and regional organisations. It will:
- undertake a survey of M25 libraries already using (or planning)
- Service Level Definitions (with or without monitoring and reporting)
- user satisfaction and other surveys (eg book availability)
- "mystery shoppers" or other qualitative service measures
- benchmarking
- disseminate the results of the survey; facilitate exchange of
experience between libraries already using these measures; and provide
advice to other interested libraries
- develop templates and documentation on best practice; eg consistent survey methodology for members and other M25 working groups
- facilitate exchange of experience on QAA audit and other library involvement in institutional quality activities
- liaise with CPD25 to develop relevant training and staff development activities
- provide a forum for quality and performance measurement issues to
be discussed in a London context, taking on board the priorities and
concerns of M25 members
- prepare an annual action plan in line with the Consortium Business Plan
- ensure that the minutes of the Working Group's meetings and related documents will be made available on the M25 website
- report formally to the Steering Group
