Collaborative Storage Solutions

The M25 Consortium and the University of London Libraries Committe jointly funded a feasibility study for a collaborative journals store (COOLPerStor) in 2004/5.

The report found that while at present there was insufficient committed interest for a regional collaborative journals store, the possibility of smaller groupings collaborating around the storage of particular subject areas would be of benefit. It outlines a number of alternative storage solutions and identifies recommendations for the operation of a collaborative store. The report also provides very useful costings of a collaborative store and potential cost savings for the participating institutions.
