Report on the Consortium's future Resource Discovery needs |

During the summer, the Resource Discovery Working Group (RDWG)
commissioned Information Management Associates (IMA) to undertake data
collection and analysis to inform the Consortium of future resource
discovery needs. The report is available to read or download in Adobe
Portable Document Format (PDF).
The report strongly endorsed the InforM25 service and its successes so
far and stated that the majority view was the need for a continuing
regional role in resource discovery. The report supported the on-going
InforM25 usage statistics work to provide data on how the various
service elements are being used. A key recommendation from the study
was for the Consortium to consider the enrichment of the "Search
catalogues" service by adding carefully selected non-M25 library
catalogues to extend the breadth and depth of coverage for researchers.
