News from the Wiener Library |
|
This summer, the Wiener Library is finally moving to its new premises in 29 Russell Square, formerly the Library of the Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies, University of London. The refurbishment of the building will create a more accessible and modern Library in sympathy with the building’s Grade II listed status.
The new Reading Room will allow for 30% more books, and three climate-controlled storage rooms in the basement will house our extensive and growing document collection, rare pamphlets and photographs. We will also have an exhibition space on the ground floor and more space for lectures and events.
Please note that in preparation for the move we are closing at 4 Devonshire Street from 1 April 2011, and will re-open at 29 Russell Square on 1 September 2011. Katharina Hubschmann Senior Librarian
