Marketing the library service

The library recently collaborated with the  museum Marketing department  on a joint BBC / British Museum project “A history of the world: Telling the story of London” in February.  The Horniman Museum  hosted a BBC London, Robert Elms  live radio show.  Visitors brought their own personal objects along to the library to be photographed and downloaded to a dedicated website, set up by the BBC online team.

In keeping with the theme  of  “10 objects for London's history of the world programme” the library displayed 10 books from our special collections for the event.

Our usually quiet library study area became a lively public space, with adults and children browsing the bookshelves whilst  waiting to photograph their objects with the BBC photographers.
