Nutrition Collection

The Library and Archives service is receiving funding from the Wellcome Trust's 'Research Resources in Medical History' scheme to catalogue, preserve and increase accessibility to the Nutrition Collection. This is a rich and varied resource consisting of historical records relating to scientific investigations carried out by London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine staff in the UK and colonial territories between the 1920s and 1950s. The project is due to be completed in August 2010.

Tool Library

One of the more unusual services offered by LSHTM Library is the Tool Library, which can be found at the Enquiries Desk in the Library. A track pump, tyre levers, spanners, etc can be issued to users on a Library card jsut like a book, which can can be used for emergency repairs. Items are issued for 3 hours and are for use on the premises only. The Tool Library is maintained by generous donations of equipment from LSHTM cyclists.
