M25 Staff Room Project

What is it?

The M25 Staff Room Project is creating the "M25 Staff Room", which will be a new online communication and networking tool for all M25 Consortium library staff. It will help users find and communicate with their relevant peers at other M25 libraries. And it will provide a forum to encourage collaboration, information sharing, and general discussion, amongst library staff across job roles and institutions.

Would you like to help us?

We are looking for members (and potential users) to join the "Ideas Group" to help us design the original brief for the Staff Room through idea generation, feedback, and initial testing.

The role is likely to include attending a half-day workshop to brainstorm ideas for what the M25 Staff Room might be. Then, afterwards, providing feedback for early designs/prototypes, and to assist with prototype testing and trying to find additional volunteers for the later stages of testing (and we envisage this being done via email/etc., rather than necessarily in person.) Timescales are fluid at the moment but we would like to have something to demonstrate at the M25 AGM in April and the new service up and running by early summer.

We are looking for library staff at M25 Consortium member institutions to join the group, and would be very grateful for your involvement.

Ideally, we are looking for members who have either relevant interest or experience in this sort of area (e.g., online communication, networking, online services, etc.). We are especially trying to encourage as wide a range of job-roles and M25 Institutions represented as possible.

If you are willing and able to take part (or if you have any questions or thoughts), please contact John Gilby (j.gilby@lse.ac.uk) at the M25 Support Team, and we look forward to hearing from you!
