M25 September Networking Event 2007

Following in the success of previous years, the Consortium’s third annual Evening Reception and Networking Event took place on September 19 and was held at the Knapp Gallery in the ambiance of a modern, newly designed space which houses exhibitions of contemporary artwork. The venue was located at the Regent’s College Conference Centre, quietly located in the inner circle of Regents Park.

The event was attended by M25 Directors and their guests,  members of the M25 Steering Group, members of task and working groups and the employees of the Consortium.

The Chair of the Consortium, Nick Bevan welcomed guests and shared a few words to kick off the evening. He started by thanking the working groups of the Consortium and task groups of CPD25 for the wonderful work they have been doing – stating that  without them, the success of the M25 would not be possible. He praised CPD25 for its famed programme of visits, workshops and charterships, suggesting the M25 Consortium must be the envy of people outside London and the south east. He also commended the officers and members of the steering group, as well as the Consortium’s support staff, introducing Suzy Ball as the new CPD25 Administrator.

Nick highlighted the fact that the Consortium has been in existence for 14 years and has been growing from strength to strength. He mentioned that not only is the organisation able to do and achieve things but that it is a supportive and collaborative environment with a friendly bunch of people and certainly a good club to be in. This is certainly a tradition he wanted to continue in as Chair.  He highlighted that a new task and finish group for service to members has been set up to lead on projects such as a Directory of Expertise and creating an area of the Consortium’s website to facilitate confidential discussions on issues, among representatives.

In closing Nick commented that the attitude and culture of members makes working with and for the Consortium a pleasure and privilege. This gave him the confidence that he would enjoy his tenure as Chair.
