  • Courtauld Institute of Art

The Courtauld Institute of Art is one of the world’s leading institutes for teaching and research in the history of art and conservation and was awarded a 5* grade in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise. Uniquely it houses world famous collections of paintings, prints and drawings in its Gallery, and also manages the Hermitage Rooms.

The Courtauld Institute of Art Gallery has one of the most important collections in Britain, including world-famous Old Master, Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, and an outstanding prints and drawings collection featuring work by Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Cézanne and Turner.

The Imperial War Museum has an incomparable collection covering all aspects of twentieth and twenty-first century conflict involving Britain and the Commonwealth.

Collections Online provides unprecedented access to large parts of this rich resource and is continually updated. Web users can now access over 6,000 highlights from the collection, including photographs, works of art, audio extracts, aircraft and vehicles, documents and library material as well as detailed catalogue information on over 160,000 items.
