All staff in M25 libraries are invited to attend the first M25 Annual Conference, 23rd April 2010, Cass Business School, City University, 9.30am - 4.00pm Partnerships and priorities: addressing the challenges of the digital ageThree eminent speakers will be joining us to give their perspectives on the economic, technological and educational challenges that libraries face today:
Professor O’Shea will introduce the JISC strategy 2010−12, and respond to members’ questions on core priorities within the current financial climate and the role of technology enhanced learning within a developing e-learning culture. Dr Quinsee will provide insight into the impact of emerging technologies that represent a step change in the delivery of education through VLEs, looking at the partnerships and services required to support students. Professor McKnight will also focus on technology from the end-user perspective, and will consider the challenges of aligning services and support for learning and research within a rapidly changing environment. In the afternoon, there is an opportunity to reflect on how these challenges impact on your service and to contribute to a debate about how we can work together to address key priorities. The debate will be chaired by John Tuck, Director of Library Services, Royal Holloway, and Chair of the M25 Digital Developments group. The day will include optional visits to the Cass Learning Centre and newly re-furbished Library at Northampton Square which incorporates collaborative learning spaces and technobooths.There is one free place per institution (for Director or nominated representative). The M25 AGM (for member representatives only) will take place during the registration period. (9:45am – 10:30am) Additional places are charged at a nominal fee of £45.
