Lottery grant for the Wiener Library

The Wiener Library has received a project planning grant of £35,800 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The money will enable the Library to draw up an Audience Development Plan (ADP) which will guide the development of the Wiener Library as it enters a new phase of its development.

The Wiener Library is the world's oldest institution for the study of anti-Semitism and the crimes of Nazi Germany, its causes and legacies. The Library's lease expires in 2009 and the Library is currently negotiating to secure new permanent accommodation. This presents a unique opportunity to evaluate and revise our services and activities.

The Lottery grant will allow the Library to draw up an Audience Development Plan with the aim is to identify potential new audiences, to plan activities and services that will allow the Wiener Library to reach these audiences and to offer a high level of service to them. The ADP will address issues relating to access, educational programmes and activities, and look at the appropriate balance between onsite delivery, outreach and other forms of access (including the web). The findings of the ADP will inform the refurbishment of the new premises.
