The M25 Consortium is a subscription based, membership organisation that is open to higher education and research libraries within the M25 area and the East and Southeast Regional Development Areas. It is accountable to its membership consisting of nominated representatives from each member institution. Representatives from member institutions set the Consortium’s strategic direction, elect and approve the Steering Group and oversee the Consortium’s budget at two annual meetings – a January business meeting and June Annual General Meeting. The Consortium works to its mission through a three year Strategic Plan and annual Action Plans. The Steering Group, appointed by member representatives, is responsible for mapping out and overseeing the Strategic and Action plans and reports on progress at the bi-annual Consortium meetings. Responsibility for specific actions lies with the Steering Group alongside the different Working Groups, tasked by the Steering Group with detailed remits. The Steering Group is also responsible for managing the Consortium’s finances. The Treasurer is an elected Steering Group officer and provides regular financial reports to the Steering. The Treasurer also presents audited accounts for each financial year to a Consortium meeting. For further information about how the Consortium is governed please see: The Strategic Plan for 2005/6 – 2008/9 sets out the aims and objectives that will take the Consortium’s mission forward. Annual Action Plans set out a detailed programme of work, in line with the strategic aims and objectives, to be delivered by the Steering Group and the Working Groups.
