News from cpd25
cpd25’s 2009-10 programme of events and visits commenced in October with the first of the ‘Professional Qualifications Series’ monthly workshops and the one-day conference ‘Applying to Study Library and Information Science ….. And Beyond’. cpd25 ran for the second time its very popular Managing Budgets workshop in November and also a Coping at the Counter session in December. Several very successful visits were also run.
On 20th January 2010, cpd25 is running a Collection Development workshop aimed at all levels of staff who may have to produce or amend an existing policy and also those who are concerned with the practical aspects of collection management and development.
February will see the launch of a new Leadership Development Programme, which is aimed at managers with some experience who are looking to develop their skills with a view to moving into a more senior role. All the places for this programme have now been taken and cpd25 hope to re-run this programme again once the first one has been run and evaluated.
Other events and visits to be run in early 2010 include: Using Social Media To Extend Your Website’s Reach on 11th February; a visit to the House of Commons Library & Information Service on 17th February (all places have now been booked for this); Collaborative Software and The Library of the Future on 18th February; and a Visit to the Library and Museum of Freemasonry on 22nd March.
