M25 2008/9 Annual Report now available

We are pleased to announce that booking is open for the M25 Consortium Annual Conference. This year we have extended the scope and style of the conference, and for the first time are able to invite all staff in M25 libraries.

Three eminent speakers will be joining us to give their perspectives on the economic, technological and educational challenges that libraries face today:

  • Professor Sir Tim O'Shea, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh, Chair of JISC, will introduce the JISC strategy 2010-2012 an respond to members' questions about core priorities, the role of technology enhanced learning and an enhanced e-learning culture.
  • Dr Susanna Quinsee, Director of the Learning Development Centre, City University, will provide an insight on the impact of emerging technologies to precipitate a step change in the delivery of education via VLEs, and the partnerships and services required to support students.
  • Professor Sue McKnight, Director of Libraries and Knowledge Resources at Nottingham Trent University, will consider the challenges of aligning services and support for learning and research in a rapidly changing environment mediated by technology.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to reflect on how these challenges impact on your service and to contribute to a debate about how we can work together to address key priorities. The debate will be chaired by John Tuck, Director of Library Services, Royal Holloway, and Chair of the M25 Digital Developments Group.

The day will include an opportunity to visit the Cass Learning Centre located at the heart of the Business School and see the newly re-furbished Library at Northampton Square, which incorporates collaborative learning space and Technobooths.
