Collaboration and Partnership Working Group - Meeting MinutesMinutes of the Meeting held at Senate House Library, University of LondonPresent: Mary Davies (Chair), Dilys Hall, Brian Murphy, Fiona O’Brien, Christine Wise (Secretary) In attendance: Angela Conyers, Richard Osborn 1. Apologies for Absence Helen Cocker, Ann Sainsbury 2. Minutes of the meeting held 6 December 2006 These were accepted as a true record, subject to the following correction: Under item 6, Membership of the M25 Consortium, the final sentence was amended to read, “In addition, the M25 Steering Group would be advised not to consider for the moment extending an invitation to the Conservatoire of Dance and Drama.” 3. Matters arising MD would make an enquiry of the M25 Consortium Secretary regarding the current membership status of the Central School of Speech and Drama, as it was not at present listed on in the M25 Consortium Directory of Representatives. 4. NHS & Health Libraries Update – Richard Osborn MD invited Richard Osborn to speak. He gave an update on the current NHS initiative to move from five to one strategic health authority covering the Greater London area. Plans were advancing, although many details regarding provision of local services and funding of contracts remained to be clarified. He noted that the London Health Libraries & M25 Consortium Joint Working Group was a productive and helpful forum, through which initiatives relating to joint procurement of health database, had been progressed. MD thanked RO for his report. 5. London Higher Projects MD invited Angela Conyers to speak. She reported on the meeting with representatives of London Higher held on 17 January 2007, at which a number of issues of mutual interest had been discussed. These included agreement on the benefits of revising the fact-sheet, Libraries in Higher Education Institutions in London (http://www.londonghigher.ac.uk/docs/Libraries_Keyfacts06.pdf) on an annual basis; assistance with producing a similar fact-sheet on computing provision in higher education libraries; research on bibliometics and benchmarking; and participation in strategic and cultural initiatives relating to the London Olympics 2012. Working Group members endorsed the approaches taken and agreed that it would be helpful to progress in the first instance the compilation of data relating to computing provision. MD and AC would bring an initial report to the next meeting. 6. Action Plan – reports from Working Group members
